The thematic approach to curriculum design in the history classroom has become a popular alternative to the traditional chronologically way of teaching. A thematic curriculum allows students to examine the timeline multiple times with different lenses. This session will examine the basic ideologies of thematic curriculum design and provide attendees the tools necessary to begin shaping their own curriculum thematically.
